Change post author
I am trying to change the author of a post. I'm following tutorials on other sites for phpBB3, but the buttons are not available.
Does Forumotion hide the default mod panel to force users to its own? How do I do it?

Re: Change post author
You can not change who starts a thread/topic? The only way would to change the username of the member who started the topic/thread.

I've done this before, with phpBB3. Does Forumotion disable something?

Re: Change post author
I do not understand why you would want to change the author of a topic.

Re: Change post author
It's a video game clan that had a leadership change and wanted to preserve the first post of a thread and make it editable for the new leader, not the old one.

You can't. Maybe your forum is hosted by another host?

Re: Change post author
I've done it before on other forums, even one with phpBB3.
Is that disabled by the Prosilver skin, Forumotion (using the foroes.org domain — the original creator speaks Spanish as much as English) or something else?

The forum is entirely in English, so don't mind the Spanish host name. (It's one of the Forumotion ones anyways.)

Re: Change post author
Hi,
At the moment, no-one on ForuMotion (Nor it's associates) can change the username of a thread starter.
However, fret not!
This mod is well on it's way, and may be released sometime, in the future.

Re: Change post author
Check your first page of your administration panel. There is a section that shows updates/announcements/news from Forumotion.

Re: Change post author
The only way to do it would be to copy the content of the first post, start a new thread your self, then merge all of the other content from the previous thread to the new one.
or this way,same thing
Tell the member you want to be the author to start a new thread then merge it like i said above.

FYI I did this but the problem is that it ordered all the posts by date which meant although the title was the new one by the new author the first post was still the old one by the old author...if you delete the 1st post then none of the following posts make any sense.
Guess I'll wait for the mod to come out to fix it.
