What are pruning and basket?
So I understand pruning is something like an automatic way of gettingrid of old threads. Where do the threads go? Are they deleted or moved to some place? If they are moved can you choose a place you want them moved?
Also what does the option to check threads when a certain amount of days have passed since the last post? Where or how do the threads in need to be checked appear?
What is a basket? How do you set it up?

Hi, automatic pruning means the forum will automatically get rid of threads.
You can set the number of days since the lat reply to determine what threads get deleted.
So if you set it to 5 days since reply, if a thread hasn't been replied to for over 5 days then it iwll be automatically deleted.
Threads which are automatically pruned get sent to the 'Basket'
You can set any forum as a basket in General > Configuration

So, it's like an archive? The threads don't get deleted but just sent to the bin?

Re: What are pruning and basket?
Yes exactly
Its good because it automatically prunes them and sends them to a garbage forum, like a bin. And then that allows you to check if you actually do or don't want to delete it or not.

Re: What are pruning and basket?
Okay. Thanks.
But in the bin itself, do I have to set the pruning to disabled? Or how does that work?

Re: What are pruning and basket?
In the bin itself, you have to delete threads.
The basket is just a way of getting rid of threads but not acutally deleting them in case you need to restore them or refer to them in the future.
If your positive you don't need the thread you can just delete it.
