Widget Codes?

Post by Paradox RP on July 7th 2011, 2:22 am

I am currently in the process of making my site a homepage. I am making it completely from scratch and am wondering if there are codes for the widgets?

Basically, I don't want to use them on my site but I do want them on the homepage. Is there HTMl or something that I can use so they work?

I want news, Recent topics & who is online.

I really hope I can do this.

Ok I just tested that and It just comes up with Recent Forum Topics: nothing else. And I did edit my adress into the code. Is there anything else I have to add to make it work? Or certain places in the html it has to go?

try the original code (dont Change anything) 100% work but the recent topic is not from your forum :
code:

Code:
<!-- show latest active threads -->
<table cellpadding="6" cellspacing="1" border="0" width="100%" align="center">
<tbody>
<tr>
<td colspan="2">
<a class='forumTitle' href="http://forums.tizag.com/search.php?do=getnew">NEW - Tizag.com Forum!</a>
</td>
</tr>
</tbody>
<tbody>
<tr>

<td width="100%">

<div class="forumThreads">

Recent Forum Topics:<br />
<script type="text/javascript" src="http://forums.tizag.com/external.php?type=js"></script>

<script language="" type="text/javascript">

<!--
for (x = 0; x < 4; x++)
{
document.writeln("- <a href=\"http://forums.tizag.com/showthread.php?t="+threads[x].threadid+"\">"+threads[x].title+"</a><br />");
}
//-->

</script>
</div>

</td>
</tr>
</tbody>

<!-- show latest active threads -->

Right. That didn't work but thank you for trying to help. I really appriciate it.
I have managed to work out how to use RSS feeds for this so this will update the news and recent topics.

So now all I need is the "who is online" and I'm done.

Ah. That doesn't have the users online now.

Some of them will come in handy. But you know at the bottom of your forum it says "In total there are 6 users online :: 2 Registered, 0 Hidden and 4 Guests " Well I want that bit (with automated updating). If its possible.

I take that back. The thing I was using is like impossible to put into a table. TT I am getting so frustrated with this now.

Ok. I worked out that what I need is a very simple. Plain text RSS Reader. Anyone know how to code one?

If not. Would this work on a html page that doesn't use the forum header and footer? http://help.forumotion.com/t23205-css-widgets-only-on-mainpage-startpage
