Solved I have filed a litigation against another forum....what now?

Post by cecesaun1 July 9th 2011, 4:52 am

Hello, I filed a litigation against this forum http://atobcreations.forumotions.net/forum for hijacking and stealing various things from my forum and applying it to theirs. I did this 3 day's ago and I'm wondering when I can expect to hear further word on this as to whether or not action will be taken against them.

They were members of MY forum http://www.cstylessims3forum.com/ , I befriended them and out of nowhere they announce they are starting their own forum. I have no issue with this, it is fairly common for members to start their own forum and I usually join members forums to show support to them. However this particular couple left...but only after stealing many of my sites content and ideas to start up their own.

I've had my forum for almost 2 years and it's my domain, they have had their forum for less than 2 months.

Is there a number or email address I can contact to get any information on my pending case?

Regards and many thanks!

Nopes, you cannot get any information.

The litigation team will check out your complaint. If they find your claims to be correct, they will then issue the forum a warning related to the query. If they don't find your claims correct, nothing will happen.

Do you know how long this generally takes by chance?

I think it can take more than 25 days. If the forum is given a warning in their admin panel & time is given to remove the illegal content, it can take long.

Thanks for replying. I have one more question...if this isn't resolved is there a way to get out of forumotion with my domain still intact and move to another forum provider. I don't think I can stand the idea of them getting away with stealing my material and ideas from my site and just say 'oh well'. If they have stolen from me already more than once, then what good would it do to continue to update my site so they can continue to steal from me?

I'm wanting to make some more changes but fearful that all that will be in vain because they will just come over and see it and steal it...apply it to their site without a care in the world.

I'm just asking. I'm just trying to protect my site and all the hard work that has gone into creating it. I'm feeling very discouraged right now. Sad

Thanks,

I know how it feels TT

However, whats the use of moving hosting? they will still copy the stuff from the new forum you create.

There was an option to transfer the domain name. However, its been temporarily shut.

I know...I'm just at a loss right now. Maybe if it's not resolved I will just shut my site down. Sad I just don't know at this point. The only positive is they don't have a clue about html...maybe I could just make my site nearly impossible to copy...ok...that is a dumb idea. Very Happy

Thanks so much for helping me out and understanding...hopefully this all ends in a positive note and they don't get away with it. I'm following all the rules...just wish others could as well. Oh well...Again...thanks! Hello
