In progress How to make a Custom Navbar

Post by Viperx24 on July 10th 2011, 7:39 pm

Hello,

I'm trying to change my Navbar to be custom to fit my site(www.maddenwarleague.com). This is what i have right now:

I would like to it to be something like this:

I want my Navbar to have this on it: MWL Home, MWL Front Office, EA Online Franchise, League Members, Profile, Messages, Log In/Out

The Navbar will have links to the custom bar. i.e. - MWL Front Office will link to http://www.myleaguemanager.net/, EA Online Franchise will link to http://www.easports.com/onlinefranchise/franchises and etc...

I can supply more information if you understand what i'm trying to do.

Appreciate all the help i can get to make this happen.

I don't think it is possible to link an off site page to your nav bar. Someone else might have different thoughts.

That's not what he is asking. He wants an off site nav bar.

Erm, I don't get it then. Looks like he wants different links on the nav bar. Just delete the ones you have and add new ones.

No, he wants a offsitelink.com in his navbar not forumotion.com/something.

Well, you can get one when you follow the instructions I gave. You can redirect the thing to anything.

Go here. Selecting "pics only" eliminates the forumotion stock text.

Spoiler:

For each link you'll do a "add a customized menu"

Each of your icons with text is an image that you'll have to create in a graphics program.

A good cheap way is Powerpoint 2010. Easy to make, lots of features to work with. Then you simply right click the image and "Save As Picture."

If you want to get more advanced, I would suggest Adobe Photoshop or Macromedia Fireworks.

Google GIMP
It's a free image editing program, much like Photoshop.
There is also other graphics programs. I have tons listed at my site if you want to check it out, click the icon under my avatar

You can also consider Gimp, it may not match up in features as the other more professional applications but it gets the job done and of course it is free.

I made this with it, partial transparent logo for the message box on a phpBB3 forum and some icons. I haven't tried making any buttons yet but it has lots of options for a wide variety of things. It will take some time to learn how to fully use it but you can google some video tutorials to help out. good luck!

Please note that we do not support any navigation bar requests any more in graphic design section. Wink
