Solved Intro page problem.

Post by VJ. June 15th 2011, 19:30

Hi,

I have a problem with my intropage.
I placed a link in the intropage to my portal, but then it redirects back to the intro!
Is it possible to link to the portal??

Everthing is correct. And i want the Intropage appear when entering the forum. Then you can click on ''Enter Website'' and then you go to the Portal.
But when you click on Enter Website, or type /portal, the forum redirects back to the Intro. That's the problem.

You could make an HTML page & link the image there, or follow the forumotion tutorial on how to make a redirect page.

I already did that, but it still redirects back to the Intropage, not to the Portal

Hello,

When you are creating page or homepage in your forum, make sure you are marking the Use this page as homepage ? to YES. And it will only allow you to set it to Yes if you will include the forumotion.com. Is that so?

@ Russel, yes I set it to yes. But I think the problem is that the adress of the portal is lately changed in: www.name.actieforum.com and not www.name.actieforum.com/portal. So the adress of the portal is the same as the adress to the Intropage.

Can you change that??

well then you need to update yur links to reflect the change of address.

Wha ti would suggest better though would be to turn your portal in to the intro page, and then create a link to the forum or html page oyu have created.

I am confused? do you want a html page or portal as your home page.

If activate your portal, then set the portal as your home page,
when you go to this link, the portal will show as your homepage.

www.name.actieforum.com

ifr you have a link with www.name.actieforum.com/forum or www.name.actieforum.com/index

then of course it's not going to go to what you have the home page set as.

so you have to activate your portal, then change that to your home page and it sould work.. i just did it on my yest forum and works like a charm.

It dont help me help that the forum is in Arabic either, but i can see the portal is not set to the home page or it would have shown the portal page as your home page when clicking this link.
www.name.actieforum.com

but once the portal is activated and set as the homepage..
it will no longer have anything to do with this link.
www.name.actieforum.com/portal

sure the portal page will still show if you go to that link.. but if it's set as your home page it should show by just this link.
