Did you upload the picture first to Hitskin? I think it's better that way.

Well the image I'm trying to use is hosted on Hitskin, but I also tried hosting it on servimg. Neither of them worked though. >_<

Check and see if the box for Background Fixed is checked?

Re: Problem Changing Background
Hi, it could be possible to change the background through CSS. Could you provide me with the image link to your desired background?

Yes, as you can see in the picture (unless it is too small for you to see, in which case sorry about that) "Background Fixed" is checked.

Certainly. I have two versions, one is resized to match my current background (I thought maybe the image size was throwing everything off) while the other is the original image on Hitskin.

Re: Problem Changing Background
Thank you. I have used the resized link that you have provided me with. Please try adding this to your CSS code:
Let me know if any changes need to be made.
- Code:
body {
background-attachment: fixed;
background-image: url("http://i46.servimg.com/u/f46/12/86/64/30/forest14.jpg");
}
Let me know if any changes need to be made.

Thanks but that gave me the same result as shown above (the rest of my forum layout gets messed up).
I don't understand why changing just the background would cause everything else to get screwed up...
EDIT: I just tried changing my whole skin and realized that I can't change to any skin, it just messes everything up and I have to restore my previous skin. I think there is something wrong with my forum. Is there some way to reset everything display-related? I don't want to lose any posts of course.

Re: Problem Changing Background
It could be your browser. Could you try using the CSS code again so that I can see what it looks like on my screen? Also, what browser are you using?

Sure, I'll do that now. I'm using Google Chrome.

Let me know when you've seen it so I can change it back. There are a few members online right now that are probably freaking out.

Re: Problem Changing Background
I'm on your forum, but I don't see the forest background? I've examined your CSS and you don't seem to be using the forest background. But everything looks okay.
EDIT: I need to go now, but I shall be back tomorrow to deal with this.

Okay I tried it on Firefox and saw a skin that I was trying out this morning! It's not applied though! And on Google Chrome I see the forest background but everything is all messed up. This is really weird.
I'm restoring my old theme by the way, I hope we can figure this out tomorrow!

Re: Problem Changing Background
Hello again, I have visited your forum and it looks the same as yesterday. Nothing out of the ordinary, but I see no forest background.

Now it's suddenly working! Beats me...
Though I think it may have been displaying incorrectly due to my previous browser history. IDK, but when I cleared my browsing history and cache it started working for me. But I also did a number of other things so I don't know for sure if that is what fixed it.
Oh well, all that matters is that it works now. I told my users to clear their browsing data if they have problems viewing the new background.
Thanks for the suggestions! I appreciate it.

Yes, I believe it is.
Note to anyone else experiencing this problem: Try clearing all of your browsing history.
