problem with hide code

hallo everyone

my problem is that when i use hide code

The symbols() are replacing []
(hide)blah blah blah(/hide)

members can see what is in the hide code without posting a reply.

any suggestions on how to fix that?

Yes because, we are supposed to use [ instead (

in my example above i used () because if i used [] it would not show up.....

any reason why beyond that?

So you are saying even if you enter the correct code, members are seeing the hidden text without replying?

Whats that? The code is just basic text. You have not used the hide tags.

but i did use hide tags
i put my text between hide and /hide (both hide codes in [ ] )

Give me the full code that you used.

Also, do you have bbcode enabled?
General>Messages and Emails>Configuration
Allow BBCode : Yes
Save.

Profile>Preferences
Always allow BBCode :Yes
Save.

Both are on Yes....BBCode is enabled

i cant give you the exact code because when i put it,it does not show up...I tried before...i use

*hide* your text here */hide*

instead of * you should put [ and ]...but i cant put them above cause it wont show up
