Solved Permanent Construction Mode?

Post by UltimateShinobi July 31st 2011, 10:11 am

Sorry if I'm posting this in the wrong place, feel free to move it if it needs to be moved.

To the issue at hand, I'm wondering if there is a way I can permanently lock a forum, for example. I've moved my site to a different url and the old site has been closed for ages but it still have quite a revenue, putting the forum into construction mode only lasts a day and I have no idea about the holiday feature, is there an easy way I can simply redirect my old sites revenue to my new site via the administrators panel?

Thanks in advance.

Are you talking about credits (revenue)? I believe you can not transfer credits from one forum to another.

When a forum is on a holiday, new members are not allowed to sign up. Can can create a html page or on your portal and tell them the URL, and you can delete all of the forum topics or lock them all.

I've considered this option, your second sentence that is. I was just wondering if there was any other option before proceeding with that.

afshar, please open up your own topic instead of hijacking someone else's topic. Wink

As far as I know, if you want something similar to construction mode then just turn on holiday mode. This way, your forum is closed until you decide to re open it and only administrators have access to it.

So there isn't any real alternative.

Yeah nikko, sucks that construction mode is only a one day thing, perhaps I should create a poll in the necessary board to see if we could get a vote of confidence to add such a feature.
