Hi,

I'm a Staff Member of the Dutch Support Forum, and there is a problem that i can't fix.
There are some people who can Register and get acces to the forum, without activation by the Admin.
There are three forums who have this problem. Can it be a bug or something???

Well, first of all: if your not a member of the administration team, you are unable to even have access to it and fix it. Secondly, if you did have access I'd say the following:

Admin Panel > Users & Groups > User Options > New accounts activation : Automatic Activation > Save

I have the same problem and must activate members before they can visit my forum. But now some members can get acces on the forum before I have activated them. They get the activation mail but no one has activated it. How is this possible?
So spammers can come at my forum and I lost controle of it.
Can you help me?

Are you sure you don't have forums that are open to guests? Could this be why they are able to post?

You could check in the individual forum permissions and untick guest from doing anything you don't want, like posting.

If this was the case, even though your admin hadn't activated them, there names "could" still be coming up if they posted, (or do they come up as guest?) they are in the database, I guess.

It's maybe a longshot, but it's the only thing I can think of, other than a big glitch.

These are new members and they have not post before. I don't know these members and the can register on my forum and they are automatic activated and no one has activated them. How can the come on my forum then?

Guest are nog allowed to see or post anything on my forum so that is not the issue.
The issue is that anyone can come on my forum now like automatic but the admin must activate them you can see it on my print.

This problem started last week and before that time everything was ok!

It sounds like a bigger problem then that the techs need to look at, you're going to need to catch the eye of a staff member so they can sort it.

Are there any other adminstrators? It could be they are activating the accounts.

No they didn't. Nobody from our forum has activate the new members.
We have tested it with 3 of our members, they registered again and it went well with 2 members but the other one came into our forum without activation from the admin.

Also 2 new members came in without activation. Crying or Very sad
spammers can come at our forum now and I can't stop it.
