In progress Founder is long gone and he didnt leave the pw.

Post by Jacksondr55 on August 19th 2011, 11:59 pm

The founder of the forum I'm an admin on left a long time ago, and didn't leave the founder password to any admin. We've tried for months to contact him, on the founder email account and his user's email account, but there has been no response. The admin team wants the founder password, and they've told me to go get it. Is there any way I can get the password? I've tried to contact one of the guys listed on the lost password post, but I've had no response (and hes been online, so its not like he hasn't seen it) I get this is probably a special case, so before I bug any more admins, I figure I should ask if I'm just doing this wrong. What do I need to do to get the password? Can I even get it, since I'm not the original founder, but just a forum admin.

Help is greatly appreciated. Thank you.

I think the founder of the forum must give the password out. Forumotion will not give anything information like that to anyone but the founder. The only way to get it is by retrieving the password. Otherwise there isn't another way. If you ever do get it, check out this link: http://help.forumotion.com/t93821-lost-founder-s-password

Hello,

I believe if the founder left his/her own forum with at least six months ago, you can contact one of the staffs via PM. Laughing

I did, and I noted in my pm to the staff member that he has been gone for well over 6 months.

Above all, it must meet the following conditions:

►The founder must be absent for at least six months and one day.
That is her last connection should go back to that date.
(Any application with an absence of less than six months & one day will not be processed.)

Thats from the thread. On our forum we sometimes use the dice roll function, and its the admin account that automatically comes in and reports the rolled number. Would this count as a connection?

Hmm... well would you be able to provide a screenshot of when the admin account was last connected to verify this? Smile

Sure, here's all the posts the admin account has made, along with the search results.

It says that the admin's last visit was at 10 Jun 2011. Six months and one day has not passed since then. Was that a day when the account automatically came on?

I have no idea. The admin and mod logs show no activity from the admin account on that date. I've messaged the admin account and many members of the forum that were active admins around the time it was created to see if they knew the password. Hopefully they get an email.
