In progress Reporting a Forum

Post by TheQueenie August 18th 2011, 8:35 pm

Hello.

How do I report a forum to Forumotion that is contravening the terms? The administrator of the site IS the person contravening the terms of service as well as some of it's members.

The Litigation Tool reports DIRECT to the Administrator who is the problem in this case, it is therefore unique. THis person is causing a lot of distress and anxiety to other members of other forums - and it needs to be closed down immediately. I do not wish to post the address here as I do not want to draw attention to it. This person is also a dangerous person who threatens people.

The Administrator continues to defame, harass and stalk members of other forums and regularly copies and pastes posts taken from other forums (which is illegal - the post is the property of the person who wrote it). She will then purposely set out to upset other forum users.

It should be known that this person is a known trouble-maker on other various forums. (Yuku closed her site down they BANNED her from creating any new forums using their service!)

I would be grateful of details of who I contact in Forumotion who can deal with this forum on YOUR site. Please provide a link or links.

Thank you.

Queenie.

You will need to use the Litigation tool for reporting forums that are breaking the Terms of Service. It doesn't go to the forum (admin) goes to Forumotion.

Thanks - but I can't use that either as it will not allow me to attach the jpg from ImageShack which is what it links to! How can I send without an image? It won't allow me to.

No thats not illegal, it's called re-posting and people been doing it since the day forums were born, However if it is content that someone owns the copyrights to and is only allowing it to be posted in one place and not authorized for the use of others elsewhere, then and only then would that be a violation..(and real proof of copyright ownership would have to be presented as well) But just copying someones post and re-posting on another forum is only re-posting and not illegal. I my self am not a big fan of re-posters and never allow it on my forums, but whats to say a member of my forum wont take others post and post somewhere else.. Like i said, it's been happening since the creations and forums.
And it's not just forums, people will re-post things anywhere and everywhere.. Thumb down

As far as the rest of the stuff that may be in violation.
You have to report it to forumotion litigation as Mario has said,
Once again it goes directly to the litigation team and not the forums administrator, the only reports that would go to the forums admin. Is those that are reported in the abuse tab of the persons forums footer.

Thanks for your replies guys. It sent in the end, I was only allowed to send one screen shot - which unfortunately does encompass all of the violations. I have included a link in my report to the rest of the images which at this stage a public for that purpose.

This is only the tip of the iceberg with this woman. I could spend a lot of time pulling together all evidence of each violation but her forum is full of them - too many to mention one by one. I know the forum had been reported but unfortunately we did not realise it went straight to her - as the Admin, so of course, the complaints have gone ignored.

I thought the posting of private emails was a violation as the person who wrote the email has not given express permission for those communications to be posted on an open forum?

Since the report was sent, I will now mark the topic solved and lock the thread.

I have received a response from Forumotion - CORRECTION - I received the response they received from the Admin of the group I raised a complaint about. They have also closed the litigation thread without my having chance to reply or challenge it! I am really not happy - this is totally unfair and totally unjust. The woman (Admin) in question is unstable and accuses many others of what she indeed IS herself. Forumotion have not looked at the site nor investigated the complaint seriously - they have only EMAILED the admin of the board to get a response! That is not dealing with a serious complaint. I am seriously considering taking further action with this as it's totally unacceptable.
