domain name help please

Post by treasuredcreations on August 30th 2011, 11:01 am

I am a complete newbie to this sort of thing and have managed to sort out all my other problems by looking though the help board. Which is fantastic :wouhou:

BUT

I just can't get the domain thing to work.

Our website is http://treasured-creations.forumotion.co.uk

I have a domain name www.treasured-creations.co.uk but have been trying without success to get this to work.
I keep getting this message
Error

The supplied domain name is not well configured
You have no CNAME redirecting to : treasured-creations.forumotion.co.uk
You have configured a A type DNS ( A type redirects to an IP address, and not to a textual domain name like the CNAME )

The settings in my domain dns are
www CNAME treasured-creations.forumotion.co.uk
and I did another incase it need the .
www. CNAME treasured-creations.forumotion.co.uk

Please help and let me know what I seem to be doing wrong

Thankyou

thank you for your reply. I have read the link and from what I can see I have done everything it says.

I now have http:// treasured-creations.co.uk showing under the personalised domains but it links back to the domain site I got the domain from rather than the forum site. ( I DID HAVE BUT NOW THAT HAS GONE )

Have I done something wrong in setting it up? or does it just take more time to work? I really do have no idea what to do please help TT

I now have the domain names back in personal domains, but it is still linking back to the domain reg site. Do I need to change the name servers or something else ?????????
