Custom Menu "Nav Links" how can I refer to it in CSS?

Post by gcnBasketball on September 1st 2011, 6:01 pm

Hi All,

Im new here and this is my first post. So apologies if I posted in the wrong topic.

I have added a new customized menu by going to AP->Display->Headers & Navigation->Nav Links and clicked on 'Add a customized menu' button.
Under its settings screen named 'Menu Creation' I put the following:
Menu: Joinus
Picture:
Text: Join Us
Redirection URL: /register
Rights: Guest

As you might understood I want to replace the register button of the menu.
What I want to know is, how can I access that new customized menu in CSS so I can change the image on hover.
For example for the Register button I use i_icon_mini_register and i_icon_mini_register:hover.

Please let me know if I can do that and how?

Thank you

If you are wanting to change the Register button it won't be in the CSS. Go to Administration Panel --> Display --> Pictures and Colors --> Pics Management --> Advanced Mode. You should be able to take it from there.

Hi Nick,

Thanks for your reply but that is not what I meant. I need to be able to change the image of the new menu button on hover.
The code in CSS to do so for the Register menu button is:

#i_icon_mini_register {
background-image: url(URL OF MY IMAGE);
width: Xpx;
height: Ypx;
}

#i_icon_mini_register :hover{
background-image: url(URL OF MY IMAGE);
width: Xpx;
height: Ypx;
}

Is this example I know the i_icon_mini_register but I want to know if it is possible when I create a custom menu button what its id/name is so I can use the same code, or a similar solution to do that.

PS: I am using phpBB3

Don't know if this is possible in Phpbb3. In phpbb2 this can be done by adding an entry to the overall_header template and referring to the chosen ID in css to make it change on hovering the mouse over it.

It seems that its not possible then on phpBB3. I couldn't find a solution so far.
If anyone of the forumotion people know then please let me know, if not possible to do so then I suppose this topic will be closed.

Thank you...
