Solved Background color posts

Post by mcel90 on September 3rd 2011, 9:14 pm

I have a forum with a transparent background. For readability I would like to do have a alternating background color behind the individual posts just like normal, but only for the posts screen. Is this possible to do with CSS? What tags do i need to use for this to work?

Hi,

You want a Bg color only behind what is written in posts?

Please provide your forum URL for appearance problems.

Code:
.post {
background: black;
}
You can change 'black' to whatever color you want. It works for me. Smile

Hope it helped. I've been toying around with mine as well. I'm using PHPBB3.

That's part the solution! Thanks Smile Now all I need is to make the colors alternate between successive posts. I tried

Code:
.post.row2 {
background: black;
}
or

Code:
.post.row3 {
background: black;
}
because .row2 and .row3 are the tags for the color of alternating rows of posts.
Unfortunately that did't work. Any thoughts?

EDIT: oh and the forum is http://clubtest123.actieforum.com/

Hi,

Try this. You need a space beetween.

Code:
.post .row2 {
    background: grey;
}
.post .row1 {
    background: red;
}

It's always as simple as a space in the right location. That worked beautifully!
