Solved Borders of Categories

Post by Polka-Dot-Heart on September 4th 2011, 7:59 pm

Hey everyone, I've been poking around in the CSS area for quite awhile now and I realized that I've wanted to get rid of the category borders on the side. Is it possible?

The area that is highlighted red is what I want to remove.

Also another question. I can't really explain so I shall show you a picture.

Please & Thank you in advance. Very Happy

Hi Polka,

Can you give me a link to the border so I can see it. Wich border you want to remove? The red one?

For the photo add this to CSS, change the link, make it rapeat or not, float etc.

Code:
.forums .lastpost {
    background: url("http://r29.imgfast.net/users/3412/19/22/63/avatars/23414-59.png") repeat scroll 0 0 transparent;
}

Find this in your CSS and change the Bg. color code.

Code:
.forabg {
    background-color: #A86262;
    background-image: url("http://i42.servimg.com/u/f42/16/82/50/51/dark10.png");
    background-position: 0 0;
    background-repeat: repeat-x;
    clear: both;
    margin-bottom: 4px;
    padding: 0 5px;
}

But is there a way to make it so the black part isn't sticking out as much?

Wich black, I see only gray there.

You can remove it by removing this from the code

Code:
url("http://i42.servimg.com/u/f42/16/82/50/51/dark10.png")

It is this

Or simply color the part you removed to the same color as this photo is so it fits nice around it like it's here on ESF.

I tried that before and it didn't work. I found a theme with the way I want it. I kinda want it like this.

http://demo.nicetheme.com/forum?theme_id=104992

Where the blue is on top, but I would also like it on the bottom.

I hope that helped, I'm sorry I suck at explaining things.

These are simple things and little or no chance for it not to work if it's done propertly. Wink

That is different.

Remove the photo I told you to remove before and the background color. And add this to your CSS

Code:
ul.topiclist {
    background-image: url("http://hitskin.com/themes/10/49/92/i_back_title.jpg");
    background-repeat: repeat-x;
    color: #BDBDBD;
    list-style-type: none;
    margin: 0;
}

Just tried it on your forum.

YAY! It worked for the top. Very Happy But why do two of the blue borders show up? Should I edit it or something?

Oh and what about the bottom can I use the same image on the bottom?
