Is this a good idea?
Moderators able to change the post author
Moderators should be able to change the post author. It can come in handy sometimes for an example when you want to reserve the second post of a thread but another member posts before you do. You could just change the post author to make it your post.
Or maybe if somebody created 2 users and you just found out, you could make all of their posts written by one user and delete the other one.
so what do you think?

Voted no...
From my point of view, that would be like steal posts...
In addition, I think only the Founder could do that...
Anyway, I wouldnt like that forum founder change the authory of a post Ive made some time ago...

Hopefully won't get abused. But even if the founder does abuse the feature, it will be at their own cost, nobody will like their forum because they think their posts are being "stolen", then the site looses activity then the founder has to work hard to make their forum more active.

Why indeed it is a great idea (something that I would use if featured)
I still have the faint idea of stealing another authors perfectly forged post.
Not to mention the complaints that could be received from staff of the forum stealing their posts and claiming them as their own.
As I said it is a good idea, but there is really no point behind it that is legitimate to really make the feature available, maybe with a little more thought on how it could be helpful might do the trick.

Voted yes, but if it happens the admins should choose who can change post auther.
Re: Moderators able to change the post author
I don't agree with this, it might be considered as stealing one's post, most of the members on a forum wouldn't like this feature also. ~ Voted No

I agree with this feature, but the only way to not get abused is ASK THEM. Unless they request you change the post author.
For example, my forum is about the sony ericsson xperia's, and android development, now, say someone wants to continue someone elses project, and they give permission, and he wants the post author changed to that user (understand?)

I vote yes, as it is a good idea, but it may not be good in some cases, and for reserving a post, just post saying "reserved" so this ideas is not really useful. It's a good idea, but it will not be very useful.

Re: Moderators able to change the post author
It would be extremely useful in our forum. We are going to arrange a novel competition, and we would like to give the opportunity to the users to vote for their favourite one. We don't want the users to vote for their friends just because they are friends, so we will post all the novels from a staff account.
The reason why this option would be great that after the competition is done, we are ging to tell the users who wrote which novel, so they can give reputation. If we could chage the author of the posts, it would make our (and our writers') work more comfortable. We don't want to steal the posts, we just want to avoid cheating until the competition is done and we have the winners. This option would be helpful in this kind of situations.
