Hello everyone

This probably sounds a bit of a dumb question, but can anyone explain how the "Thanks" button actually works?

We are a little bit confused about it's actual purpose, we know only one post in a thread can be thanked, and that only the thread starter / original poster can see the faded out "Thanks" button when somebody has thanked someone, but is that it?

Why cant all members see the faded out "Thanks" button, and why can only one post per thread be "Thanked" using this feature?
On our forum our members often want to "Thank" a number of posts and the option to say thank you once really is not enough?

Our members have recently asked us to explain how the system works? so we would like to explain to them how but really don't know exactly ourselves? Embarassed

Many Thanks Smile

Only the topic starter sees the Thanks button. It's there to thank the person with the most useful answer. In the acp you can set the points given with thanking a person.

rhe has explained the use of the thanks button, really. It's just the way it works and there's not really any other use of it. But if you want other good posts to be 'thanked' then you could use the reputation system. Smile
