Hi my name is Amelia and our Forum is http://www.free-style-art.com/.

The purpose of our forum is for artists to upload their work, from writing, photography, music, fine arts, performance, etc.
Our challenges are the following:
1. link the gallery entries (photography, music, performance video's) to the member's profile so that these work also display as their posts.
We have split the writing elements of art in the posts and the visual arts in the gallery.
2. uploading of music files and video files in the Gallery. Because we allow our members to upload their art the only possible visual way was through the Gallery but we don't have the facility there to upload video's or music files. Can this be added to our forum? Or if you can advise another way but it needs to be visible in the forum for other members to comment on the entry. (The attach in the normal posts does not work for us as everyone can download those files, so we had to deactivate that).
3. Because of the nature of our forum we want to add a disclaimer on all new posts/entries that the members need to accept (age restriction). When they accept the disclaimer a button should appear next to the post that it is for adult viewing only.
In the same breath we would like to know if it will be possible to have the members ID (Identity number) be activated to stop viewers younger than 18 to view these posts. (know this is a lot to ask but it is important).
4. We would like to add our own rules to the registration page but do not have access to those files. Will you be able to give u access.
5. We have an additional website with all the information about FreeStyle but can not add a navigation to link members to it as it adds the forum's prefix in front and does not allow us to link to our site. How can we do this please.

Thank
Amelia

You can not add any music or video to the gallery.
Also the gallery is separate from post, so the only thing i can suggest is that you allow your members to create their own galleries, then add a advanced profile link to all members profile were they will have the option to add their gallery link in their profile.
But other then that i do not see any automatic way to achieve this.

Once again you will not be able to add video or music to the gallery.
I would say your best bet would be to create a two forums, one for members music and one for members videos, then just have them start a post as normal and share that way.
Unless you wanted them to submit any content to you and you can create stuff on html pages that can be added in the nav bar, or other section of the forum for them to click on and go to.

But of course they would not be able to upload and post anything on these pages and would have to submit content to you or other admin to place on a html pages.

So once again your best bet would be to just create forums and have them post and share all music and video in them designated areas for that

There is no way to enforce a true age restriction,Plus all content on forumotion forums have to be appropriate for persons of the age of 13 years or older,If you have content that would not be appropriate for a 13 year old, then it would be in your best interest not to allow on your forum. Because if people complain. depending on the content you can lose your forum.
So i always tell people to make sure they keep all content on a PG-13 level and their forum should be fine.

Remember Forumotionm is free forum hosting open to the public, So as a free public forum hosting company,By law you have to be at least 13 years of age to join a forumotion forum. So it dose not matter if you have a way to make it for adults only or not. Any adult content would still be a violation regardless of stating any such post or content is only to be viewed by person of 18 years of age or older. If this is something you really need to incorporate and implement, then you would need to go to some sort of paid hosting that would allow any content that would other wise be inappropriate for minors under the age of 18 years.

Yes you can add your own rules through template edit if you are using phpbb2 or punbb,
However all of the Official rules that are there now must remain at the top and any of your rules can follow underneath.. Keep in mind your rules can not contradict any of the forumotion Rules,TOS and Polices that are in place now.

For instance, if the age says you have to be at least 13 years old to join, then you can not add additional rules saying you have to be 18. All forumotion Rules,TOS and Polices explained must stay in place or it would be in violation and you could lose your forum.

But other then the forumotion stuff that has to stay in place, you can add any other additional rules you wish for how you want to run your forum.

I am not exactly sure what you mean by
the prefix in the front dose not allow you to add your link?

All you have to do is go to your navigation options and create a new navigation menu, name it, add your link and then hit save.. so now you will have your website link in your forums navigation bar, of course there are many other ways to incorporate your website to your forum as well, you would just have to explain what it is you want to do and we can take it from there Smile

So hopefully that answered most of your questions, feel free to reply with anything else,
But please be sure to pace things one at a time,

Thank You Cool

Thank you for the feedback.

One more question .

Is there any way that two people can be linked to one post - called dual writing. If they have worked on one peace but wants it to display on both member's profiles as their work.

Thanks
