How can I control members who join?

Hello, is there anyway that I can control the members who join my forum? Like asking for permission to join kind of thing? Is there an option on the control panel in order to do this?

AP > Users and grups > Users options > Account activation > Administrator.
There you can set it so you have to activate the members wich registrated. Or you can hide your forums for newly registered and open only one where you can make them open a topic and do what you want them to do before you approve them, add them to a group that sees the forum. There are a fiew ways.

but is there a way how i can make my forum closed, like yuo cant see any topics before i have approved you as admin and granted your access, or i can hide from non users only certain topics if i make groups?

Set all the permissions for each category and forum so guests can not view them.

i can do this on the forum page somewhere or i have to change something in administration panel under users and groups? Many thanks for help:)

To change the permissions of categories and forums, go to:

Administration Panel ==> General ==> Categories and Forums

Select the symbol that represents the permissions in the legend key for each section and you can change it there.

This does not mean that it exactly the slash symbol. It is merely using the slash as an example. Usernames are not excepted when symbols are used and should be kept using only numbers and letters.
