Our forum has received a litigation. We do not know the reason, nor have we received an email about it. This is our first litigation, so we are unsure what to do. Is there someone we should contact on Forumotion?

Thanks.

No, not that I can tell. There's only a number '1' next to the 'litigation' field. It used to be '0.'

Hi, I assume that you haven't received an official abuse report by Forumotion. If there is nothing on your forum breaking our terms of service then you have nothing to worry about. This report has been sent by using the 'Report an abuse' link at the bottom of the forum.

If the report is completely false then simply move it to 'Done abuses'. Smile

No.

Then it's not from forumotion litigations.
If forumotion sends you a warning message it would be right on the home page of your admin panel.

What you are reviving is a reported abuse thats from your footer. Any reports that are reported there go to you. This way you can take care of any problems instead of forumotion litigation having to step in.
The only way someone can make a report to forumotion litigation is sending it through the litigation tool.

So all you do is check the abuses in your admin panel ,take care of any problems as you see fit, then click on done abuses.. and thats it.

Actually, it's not an 'abuse,' but a litigation, and we have finally been contacted about it, so we know who litigated us and why.

We're not clear what happens at the end of the two weeks. Are we contacted about any decision, whether favorable or otherwise?

Thanks to everyone for all your help, it's really appreciated!

No you would not know who reported it or why. Not from forumotion litigation you would not.

Do you have a message in your homepage admin panel with a deadline to remove violations? If so then yes thats from forumotion litigation.
But they do not tell you who the complaint came from or even what the violations are.

We know who it is because he identified himself in his message.

We don't have a message on the home page. The litigation only appears in the Misc tab, under "Support."

That is not a litigation from Forumotion. It is a member who used the Report an Abuse button at the bottom of the homepage footer. You will be the only one who sees it.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but it's forumotion who sent us an email notifying us of the litigation and it's forumotion who will make a judgement within 14 days, right?

Hi,

You can take a look at this tutorial
https://help.forumotion.com/t60088-i-ve-received-a-message-from-forumotion-is-it-true

When you recieve a litigation from FM it usually gets placed in your Admin panel here http://i.imm.io/9IQC.png
It is red color and it has a 10 days counter that you are pending deletation if you don't get your forum in comforty with TOS.

It sounds like a member or guest is giving you time to correct whatever he/she finds wrong with your forum. Forumotion does not send an email about litigation reports. They post a message on the homepage (first page) of the administration panel.

LOL I give up.
This is not a litigation's report, it's from someone who clicked on the report abuse tab in your footer, So if you cant understand that then i am at a loss on further trying to explain.

Lets wrap it up, we are not going to dwell on this much longer. The question has been answered more then once already and nera has provided additional links to further explain.
