Im pretty sure someone knows how to do it. I mean I can do it except my way shows it even on the forums that dont have a sub forum.

What I did is go to the the INDEX_BOX template and put it right in this part
This is original
Code:

                     {catrow.forumrow.L_LINKS}{catrow.forumrow.LINKS}
                     {forumrow.L_SUBFORUM_STR} {forumrow.SUBFORUMS}

This is what i did
Code:
                      I WROTE SUB FORUMS HERE:
                     {catrow.forumrow.L_LINKS}{catrow.forumrow.LINKS}
                     {forumrow.L_SUBFORUM_STR} {forumrow.SUBFORUMS}

Only problem like I said it puts it for all the Sections even if they dont have a Sub Forum.

Hi,

AP > Display > Structure and hijerarhy > Sub-level links on index : Yes

Wouldn't that do what you want or you are thinking on something else?

That's easy, go to your index_box and find this {catrow.forumrow.LINKS}
Write it before that.

Solved Re: Show Name "SubForums:"

Post by Guest on September 29th 2011, 8:06 am

Since I'm in a good mood tonight, I'm going to share one of the biggest secrets about templates. Nera was on the right track, but what's needed is a way to only display the text if subforums actually exist.

Javascript to the rescue!

What, you say? You can't do that because {catrow.forumrow.LINKS} is a PHP variable? OF COURSE YOU CAN! Since the PHP interpreter replaces variables before writing out the HTML page, it is possible to use PHP variables in template scripts if you have some basic knowledge of PHP and some advanced knowledge of javascript. And in this situation it's possible.

So...replace the {catrow.forumrow.LINKS} variable in the index_box template with the following and you should have exactly what you want. I say "should" because there are some limitations, though it's unlikely you will encounter one.

Code:

Don't ask me how or why this works, or what the limitations are. My mood isn't good enough for that. Wink
