In progress Announcements and Sticky Help Please!!

Post by cryss0407 on October 10th 2011, 7:18 pm

My forum URL is http://scrappindollars.forumotion.com/
My issue is currently in the Birthdays area http://scrappindollars.forumotion.com/f8-birthdays
My forum is a phpBB2.

Now onto my problem ....

I am trying to move the Announcements and Sticky area to the top of the Category. I went through this forum looking for an answer and found one that said to go to General - Messages and e-mails - Configuration and in there change the Separate announcements and stickies from the messages to with a table.

I did this and it separates the announcements and stickies from the other posts however it does not put them at the top. I know that there is a way to do this I just can not find it.

Thanks in advance for your help!!!

Hi, the option you've selected should put the announcements and stickies at the top. Could you provide a screenshot of what you're seeing? Smile

Thank you. I can assure you that the system is working properly. What you're looking at in the screenshot are sub-forums within a forum. I can see that you've made a test announcement topic. If you create more normal topics then you will see that in fact the stickies and announcements are being separated. Very Happy

I know that they are separated. My question is how can I get the "announcement and Sticky" section that you see at the bottom to be on top above the "Birthdays" section?? I have seen it on top in many forums so I know there has to be a way.

As far as I know, I don't think it's possible. If you've seen other forums, could you please provide some links?

Also, you could try playing around with the structure at:

1. Administration Panel (advanced mode)
2. Display Tab
3. Structure and hierarchy (on the left, under Homepage)

Here is a link to a forum that has what I am trying to do. I also included a screen shot of how I would like mine to look.

Thanks! The reason why those announcements and stickies appear at the top is because that forum has no sub-forums. If you have sub-forums within a forum, then they will appear above your topics.

Thank you sooo much, that fixed what I was trying to do. You Rock!!!

I do have a new question to ask though. I would like to add a section to my profile where members can add graphic stamps that will then show up below the profile info when they post. I am attaching examples.

You're welcome. I don't think what you're trying to do is possible, but I'm not completely sure. However, you can try adding a new personalised profile field and making it a text zone and see if members can add images using HTML. Other than that, you can try using 'images list'. Smile

Adding HTML to a text zone just shows the html not the image, and Image List isn't what I need either. I am a member of 4 other forums and all 4 have a "stamps" area where members can add stamps (small stamp shaped graphics) to their profile and they show up under the basic info of your profile on each post you make. Same as what my last set of screen shots show. So it is deff possible to do.
