Banner size, problem Empty Banner size, problem

Post by neish October 8th 2011, 1:24 pm

Hello, can't found the appropriate dimensions for forum banner.
Now is width 1350 pixels, if banner is larger than looking over the edge on one side.
Is possible to move banner left or right in settings?
Or any other solution plz?

Thanks

Hello neish

You can replace the link to the banner above for this:

<img src="http://www.shrani.si/f/1r/46/or92Bx6/cut1.jpg" width=100% height="200"
></img>

You see I've used 100% for width you can reduce this by 1% each time to suit your style.
You can change height= 200 by +1 or -1 to suit style.

You can "center" your banner by using these codes if needed

<div align="center"> copy above to here </div>

Change "center" to "right" or "left"

I'll look into your second problem, and edit this post shortly with any updates.

Liz

Update:

<img src="http://www.shrani.si/f/1r/46/or92Bx6/cut1.jpg" width="1024" height="181"
></img>

Update:

The right code for your banner is:

<img src="https://i.servimg.com/u/f48/13/28/23/69/10210.jpg" width="100%" height="246"
></img>

Thank WHITESABBATH for the code :wouhou:

you can move your banner via ..ACP>>display>>header/navigation>>page headers>>logo positioning(left)>>save.
I don't think it will help much in your case being your banner is perhaps a bit wide to begin with.. try reducing its size

try this one
Code:

Hmm, i don't understand True Blue,
Where to add "center" code?

I increased the size to 1 percent and +1 (102 now) and now banner looks over the edge or right side, check url plz.
So, i need to use center code, how?

I think this is what True Blue is telling you

Code:
<div align="left">http://i48.servimg.com/u/f48/13/28/23/69/10210.jpg</div>
but i don't see it happening.

Hello neish

To avoid "bump" and opening new messages, I find it easier to edit my posts on the forum, if you go back to my edit post earlier you'll find what might be the answer to your banner question.

I'll look and see your other problem, and edit this post with updates, so keep watching this post for updates, if I sign out I'll update it here. Wink

Liz

Update:

I think you want the top of the left box to line up with top of forum box?

Try placing <p></p> above the music player, keep adding to see if it moves downward, if this is impossible because of your coding try adding   before the code keep adding more   and look for changes.

Always copy and paste your proper code first and save to a notpad as backup. Wink

Update:

You'll still need to adjust your banner width="100%" try width="75%" and see if it helps.

neish wrote:Nvm guys, can't fix stupid banner, So it will stay such as...
EDIT: i dont understan your code:
<img src="https://i.servimg.com/u/f48/13/28/23/69/10210.jpg" width="100%" height="246"
></img>

This is the code for your banner from i48.servimg.com the other code you posted is from your forum and that is what caused the resize problems.

The <p> tag defines a paragraph.

The <p> element automatically creates some space before and after itself. The space is automatically applied by the browser, or you can specify it in a style sheet.

Right you banner is now 1,395px × 247px remove the 100% and try width="1,000" and deduce or addon to find your true width to fit.

Update:

Now we know you can't change the banner that way. Embarassed

Its all done through administration panel > Display > Pictures and Colors > Pics management.

Ask premission from forumotion.com if its possible if you can resize your banner (if its not copyright) and if they allow I'll resize it to fit. Wink

Hello neish

Music Player with green Forum edge.

I found something that might help.

Goto: Administration Panel > Modules > Portal & Widgets/Forum widgets management.

You'll see a button "Create a widget"

Widget name : . (you might not notice, but I just used the symbol "dot" I also made it bold in this thread to show you, so it helps us in the final setup).

Use a table type : "yes"

Widget title : (Leave blank)

Add the bold iframe only code to HTML Editor (box)

<iframe width="100%" height="50" frameborder="0"></iframe> (change height number to suit)

Once saved it show here: Addition/deletion of personal widgets

Click "add the widget" it will appear at the bottom of the pile, delete all above it, replace your Music Player below again and adjust your new widget to suit.

Hello neish

I'm on my works computer, I can't accept passwords or risk my job by going into other sites without the knowledge of my work knowing, the only way was to upload screenshots on how to solve your problem, as this is impossible, hope someone else can help you.

Liz

Hello neish

We're back in business, just found a way of uploading my images here. :wouhou:

This is your question?

Banner size, problem Neish10

I even found a way to make my own widge.

I upload the code later.

Liz

Update:

<table border="0" width="100%"onMouseover="this.bgColor=' red '" onMouseout="this.bgColor='white'">
<tr>
<td width="25%"><div align="center"><a href=" Url link here " target="_blank">
<img src="https://2img.net/u/1915/22/64/96/avatars/1-72.png" width="70" height="70" border="clear"
></a> </div>
<b><div align="center"><span style="color:white"> Main forum</span> </div></b></td></td>
<p></p></td></tr></table>

Replace the image code for one of you own, all directions to placing the widget is in my second post. Or you know where else to view them both. Wink
