Solved Need help with banner placement

Post by Linzy on October 12th 2011, 12:28 am

Hello.
I need help with moving the banner I am using for my page. We have it on the centered option and we have tried enlarging the banner in order to center it with the page. But it continues to remain in the right margin.
We are using the phpBB3 version. Also please be advised I am a technotard and am learning as I go so please respond accordingly.

Thanks,
Linzy

Hi Smile
Thanks.
Part of your problem is the fact the actual forum isn't full width.
So at present your banner is too big.

Hi Smile
Options are
Make forum width wider.
Make banner smaller.

We have tried different combinations of forum width and banner sizes, but it still won't center. We want the banner to span that entire dark region. Any suggestions?

Hi Smile
I have just gone wide screen.
Yes you are right.
Banner is just left of center.
So if you alter forum width.
That could be the better option.

So conclude the same as you.

Hmm, all right we will adjust the sizes again and hopefully it works out.
Can I ask you an unrelated question?

Hi Smile
I have tried to match area size.
But this is on my widescreen.

Your question.

Okay I unlocked the forum so you can see what I am talking about.
Is there a way to move the statistics info over to the space left of "who is online"?

Hi Smile
After I registered too.

The thing is that a lot of options are tied to the skin you use.
If you have CSS you do alot.
This overides many of the presets.
This can be confusing as you would still have a CSS stylesheet for minor tweaking.

So I am stuck with what I have? That is okay I was just wondering if it was possible. And in all honesty I have no clue what all that CSS stuff is. I am pretty much learning as I go.
Thanks for all your help.

Hi Smile
Yes I am not a guru by any means with CSS.
Have sent a suggestion via PM.
