General guest rights question on forum viewing.
ok so my question is . i have my forum set so guest can see my forums. but as soon as clicked on or a sub forum is clicked on it says please register. I wanna generate more members. I feel this is both good and bad the way i have it. I also at thae same time don't wanna make it so guest can see all the topics with out registering. Is there a way i can make sub forums viewable as well? Or even the topics. but make the info posted hidden unless registered? like a [hide]info goes here[.hide[ deal?

Re: General guest rights question on forum viewing.
admin panel -> general tab -> forum section -> categories & forums -> just click this icon in each topic that you want to set.
make it advance mode, and then you can set it as you want it.

well for hidden content, you want to make it so guest can view the forum and and post, but can not reply unless the register.. or If you do not want them to see the content in post, then just have the permissions where they can view the forum but not post messages content.
The hide tags on forumotion do not work as you are asking.

ya i want then to see post. but like free stuff or links to other info i wanted to hide. so it would force them to register. i like the traffic. but getting tired of seeing new record 122 users online with 43 registered members. lol just trying to figure ways to draw more. like i have a android news section would like the article titles to show but when they click the title it would say registration required. oh well guess i can deal with it.

Re: General guest rights question on forum viewing.
well i pretty much explained it above.
If you only want certain stuff to show in the post, then just use the hide tags for what you want to hide and let the other stuff for what you want to show, Show
then once they register and reply to the post, They will then see the hidden content. But only after the reply to the thread. thats about the only way to do what your asking.
