View as user/group on forum header.

Post by wolfo9 on October 24th 2011, 4:01 am

Have an option in the header of the forum for administrators, to see the forum as another user/group would see it, so that the admins can know exactly what other members are seeing, and address a problem faster if there is one.

Example: Member 1 complains that the appearance of the forum is sloppy, but to the admin, it looks just fine. So he chooses view forum as member 1 (or members group), and he sees that the appearance is messed up, because of a widget that only admins can see. He fixes that easily, instead of trying to communicate with the member to try and figure out the problem.

I agree with Slg. You could have a test account, either to view problems or whatever so the reason is. Vote no.

that's the point of this suggestion. you dont have to create a test account. and it is alot faster than a test account

It is really unsafe if you would add the member in the administrators groups because they might mess up your forum since that group can access to the ACP..

I voted no, mostly because it isn't difficult to make a test member. In fact, I already have one, and I'll continue to use it for testing as the forum grows, so I feel no need for this in the future.
