is there a way to add a form plugin to forumotion where you can add like forms to apply to a clan/guild or a form to fill random information of stuff then have it post a topic of the form from that person or have it be save for you to read later. is there a plugin/addon like this for forumotion? or is it possible to make one?

well i was wondering because don't know if you guys have but if you use something like phpnuke they have application form module that you can make forms with and people fill it in and it auto posts on forums if you want it to or you can decide if you want to approved or disapproved the application turn in. its not really a add-on or plugin its more like a module for forums i guess. was just wondering if forumotion supported it or not Razz but i guess i could use third party one heh. heres a link of an example of the phpnuke one so you guys know what i'm talking about more: http://phpnuke-downloads.com/Clan_Application_and_Recruitment_Module_v2.2-14-1220.html

you can like add questions or check boxes and drop boxes. and various stuff you would like to know about your mates/applicant.

You're not able to add that to a forumotion forum.

See here for forms:

The form would have to be created yourself, and the hidden values of 't' for the topic number can be filled in, to post to a certain topic.

i didn't get what you mean. but anyways i tried creating a form as the link directed to and i have a slight problem :/ when i click submit or a friend, it trys to open an email application to send and a lot of my mates don't use email apps is there a way to make the action just send the email message with out having to open a email application (outlook, g mail, yahoo-mail, etc.) or just post on a forum? or can some one link me to a submit.php code so i can prob create my own submit.php and direct the src so it can like auto send taking question and answer value so it could be read in email. and upload the php some where else or something?

I apologise, i was under the assumption you were wanting a form which posted to a specific thread in your forum, the applications?

But you are now wanting it to email to you?
If so, i'd recommend: http://www.emailmeform.com/

well i would like for it to post a topic too that would be better actualy. Ive tried using those free form creators they're full of it i tried using form-jot or w.e and every time ill try to submit it would try to direct me to a phishing site.

How can you get it to post a topic once the applicant submits? can you explain it more please? I would really appreciate it.

I'm not sure how i could get a form to post an actual new topic, i'm yet to look into that actually.

But i could certainly get a form to post into an already existing topic. So if you made a topic named something like 'Applications', i can make a form which will post the applications in to it.

The way it would be done is through an onsubmit event, a function would be called which would gather all the information from the input fields, turn it into 1 string. Which would then be posted into the topic.

Its kind of hard to show you exactly how right now without knowing more about it all and taking a proper look at everything. But its definitely something i could write.

I don't have one of these. Though i am currently in the process of creating a new quick reply.

But you'll need a form:
- you'll need text area's, multiple since it is an application form.
- You'll need hidden values of tid, and t at least.
- then submit obviously
Code:

<form action="/post" method="post">
<input type="text" name="firstname">
<input type="hidden" name="tid" value="">
<input type="hdden" name="t" value="">
<input type="submit">
</form>

Its quite a long process so im a little relucatant to just write it out, i don't really want to be sat here for a few hours lol.
But i can gladly provide explanations.

Application forms Empty Re: Application forms

Well if your wanting it to send to a topic the form action has to be /post as that is what is on the server and the action which posts things into the database.

To do this, it would have to be a form created originally by you, not one from a free host thing.

using /post as the action it will only post what is in the box named 'message'. So your going to have to write a javascript function which will execute upon submit, which will gather all the values from your input fields, and create them into one string and enter it into the message field, so when the form submits, it submits the message to a topic.
