Moving forum

I'm an admin on a free forumotion.com site created by another person that no longer is part of our group. He is now wanting me to delete the forum and create a new one so that his name is no longer associated with the site.

Here's are my questions.

1. Is there anyway to backup the current site and then import it into the new site?
*** We have a lot of users and posts that I do not want to loss.

2. Or is there anyway to actual move the current site under my information so the original fonder is no longer responsible?

Sorry, but you can not take your forum's database to another site.

Best thing to do is create a new site and tell everyone that there is a new site.

I did locate a post from the original fonder and what he is saying is not 100% true. But not here to start anything just want to get things moved over the easiest way but from what you posted there is not one.

To bad he is not telling the whole fact, yes I did change everything when he told me that I was to take over. I was not going to use his email address or password.

Anyway new site being built up and I hope I get everything changed over before he deletes it. Thanks anyway.

Well after read this thread and the other one, then I would say create your own forum.
