News - Support Forum V3.6

Hello all members of the Support Forum,


As of last night, there have been some swift changes within the forum's organisation. This thread is here to inform you all of what has happened, why it was done... and maybe hint out at some future points


A Brand New Section!

As the title indicates, this forum is now in it's version 3.6 Previous versions saw the appearance of what is now the General Discussions, the Suggestions, the Forum Promotion and the Graphics Sections in turn. This new version celebrates the arrival of a new section to our arsenal to provide support; The Review Section.

This new section comes complete with the addition to our staff of the Review Team, under the supervision of MrMario


Two New Greens and New Blues!

Jalokim, chief of the Graphic Designers, or GFX for short, has been promoted to Global Mod.
MrMario, chief of the Forum Reviewers, has also been promoted to Global Moderator.
These promotions are to show their higher ranking within the staff compared to their respective teams. As specified, Global Moderators have moderation rights and jobs on the whole forum whereas each group is only moderator of it's dedicated section.
Who says new section also says new figures to ensure it works. In this optic, a series of tests have been passed and two members were chosen; Pacific and Veljko both enter the ranks of the Forumotion Reviewers.


A Renaming of the Moderators to Support Moderators!

This has been planned a while ago. However, for reasons of practicality, this was only done now with the other changes. The reason behind this slight change is simple; to have a clearer view of their role. It had come to mind to many members that the Support Moderator's main role was to moderate the forum. Thus leaving two moderator groups and no groups dedicated to providing support. This is shown by the number of suggestions for a "Helper" group. These views were of course wrong.
The Support Moderator's have always had as main role to provide support in the different sections.
The new name will hopefully communicate this role better than the previous one did


The Reappearance of the ChatBox!

As many members have asked time and time again, the ChatBox will be re-opened!
However, this is not without a forewarning; this decision is in no means permanent. Indeed, this forum is a Support Forum at heart and not a Discussions Board. As such, if after a probation period the ChatBox isn't going well, then it will simply and purely removed. The ChatBox is intended for generalist discussion, as in P.Ms, support will not be provided there.
The future of the chatbox depends on how well the members behave in it. If like last time it simply creates an area where we need to permanently moderate, it won't last long. I trust members will be able to understand and comply with the rules

You've read correctly; things will not end at that
There is still many more paths that can be explored, ideas to invent. All that I can say for now is that there is work behind the scenes ensuring the continued efficiency and simplicity of the Support Forum.
The current project is the remodelling of the rules and the FAQ Listing. This project may take some time before it becomes visible, so we ask you please bare with us. This is being done for several reasons;
> To improve the accessibility and simplicity of each
> To improve the visual quality of each
> To update the rules
Indeed, since the forum has started, rules have changed. Some aren't applied anymore, others have been slightly changed, some still have been added. This has caused some slight errors, or incoherances to appear. Hopefully the remodelling should solve these issues


For the rest, all I can say is to keep your eyes open and that the sky has no limits
