My moderator cannot moderate!

I have gone through the available tutorials and I have gone through the FAQs and I cannot for the life of me figure this problem out.

I have created a user group entitled moderators and I have added the my moderator's handles to the list.

Their names appear in red, however, when you go the bottom of the forum their names do not appear in the "Moderator" category.

I have tried to "set permissions" but it does not seem to work either.

To answer to your question:
So far you've don well, but you still need to edit the group's permissions
Admin Panel => User Amin & Group Admin => Group Admin => Permissions => Edit a group
Tick the bx is moderator

for your question, after creating and setting the permissions for your moderators group you have to go back to User Admin & Group Admin>>Group name : and click on your moderating group>>Group Members: write the name of every member you want him to be moderator>>add member.

Perhaps I should start from the beginning.

Initially, I had success in setting up my moderator user group and all was well.

However, in an effort to improve the organization of the forum, I added another category.

Once I did this, my moderators were no longer able to moderate.

Then I deleted the old group and created another "moderators" group hoping that this would solve the issue.

No such luck.

This is what it looks like when I go to my permissions screen.

The reason I included the picture is because I do not see any group to make moderator.

I can click "is moderator" but I do not see that it applies to any particular group except for the fact that I clicked on "moderators" and then clicked on the permissions button on the far right.

I would greatly appreciate any ideas!
