chat members names problems (TEC'S please help )

Hi can some one help me out on this problem

i have a test account and i have my own main site and i have been getting members come in and make accounts with us with Character map names
i have found that this is not working for all of the chatters
but when i add the name to my test site it works fine.
can some one tell me why this is going on and if there is a fix for this on here so i can let them use them names

here is a screen shot of the names working and not working
top one working ok for 3 days now

bottom one not worked at all.(same name) just in main room

i am not sure apeman. Do you have the same settings for each site? I would go through it all and compare as there must be a reason why it is working on one site and not the other, (such as maybe always show HTML in profile turned on and in admin panel also?)

ok what i did is i was on phpBB2 and then went over to Invision
and i them made a test site for my forums in Invision
the one that was phpbb2 is the one that is not working with the c map but the Invision one does work fine,

maybe when i changed over the settings did Not change with it

is there away that i can get this to do the same ?as the new site i have looked over the site and copye'ed it all over as to what i can see the same as the other one
so i think this is down to the change over from the old one to the new one

when you went from phpbb2 to invision, did you keep your current theme? add a custom one? or set it to the default for invision? is your test forum the default theme for invision?

on your proper site ape man (one in your profile, i see characters just fine?)

when i went over from the old one i went in to hitskin and click on the settings from there **add a custom one** did i do wrong ?
when i made the new site i went in to the make a new site and made it from there in Invision

which site is that in your profile? is it the one you are referring to about not seeing characters in names as i can see them fine.

yeah the one in the profile but that is not Cmap names that is just something that was on a website
that one works fine it the one in the screen shots that dont work on one but does in the other one and its names like that that my chatters want in the site just a little lost of how it can work in one but not the other

Dостоя Bовѕтεя looks ok here as well but its all numbers and leters in the old forum of mins some other chatters have made this type of name in my site and i have had to remove it as they cant log in again if its changed to this &#65259&#65260&am

ok if you click the red A/A on the top of the site and it goes plain your see the words go to the letters and numbers
if its red its ok the name shows up in here but not in my site ?

Yeah, you mentioned that one worked however what about the characters that were meant to be in place of &#65259&#65260&am?

I think it has something to do with the html of the forum, i know that when coding you can specify the Unicode used for that HTML, I.e character map

However i am still looking into it

Thank you craig i should have come to you 1st but as i may not be the only one to get this some time i was thinking i better add it here LOL do you want me to get the other names of the chatters and add them here ?

ok here is one of them names that come up with numbers and letter on my site

Well i just went and checked it out, Now it appears that its to do with the length, The forum cuts the username short when it gets soo long and then because of that it displays numbers and letters because it can only display some and not all the codes needed to create the characters

Now that was on both sites phpbb2 and Invision,

Get them t try shorter versions of the names

this name comes up as numbers in the old forums
i have asked to have the name named smaller and this is what she come up with and it still comes up with numbers and letters

so it can't be the size of the letters used in the furums can it ?

bomp can a tec look at this is there is not one one else who can tell me how to fix it ?

EDIT i have just found that im not the only one getting this problem now i have found a new post that has the same here
