Community Blog?
Community Blogs
Well this feature is already in Invision Board. Anyhow it is basically a place where you could have a forum community Blog. It is a button in your navigation bar, when pressed on takes you to the community Blogs. In the community Blogs your forum members could make Blogs in it, and write all they want in it (while following the forum rules) and other people could comment on it.
Re: Community Blogs
well, I know UBBThreads is working on adding a blog Feature for their next update and for those that do blog it is a good idea. Only issue I have with the blog idea is, why not just set a place on your forums as side for it, just make another area on the forums, make it invisible, add a button to the nav bar and give it an all to inventive name like "blog area" or "Online Journal"
Either way I voted yes since a good idea is a good idea

Re: Community Blogs
What are UBBThreads?
Also well you could do that, but it won't be the same. A place made especially for blogging is much more organized and efficient.

Re: Community Blogs
No I meant something like:
Button in nav bar:
When clicked on:
As you can see it has a "Create a blog" on the top. Also on the bottom it shows you the list of blogs, with the most recent used on the top. (With the title of the last topic in that blog written)
When "Create a blogis clicked on:
After rules are accpeted:
When you are donw filling it out, the blog is made and here are your settings:
A member's basic, default blog:
Notice that it now has a "My Blog" button too in the nav bar.
I hope you all understand what I mean...

Re: Community Blogs
No, i really don't think this is so important... you can create a blog via sosblog and make a very similar theme for it... then you will feel the same

UBBThreads is a rather pricy forum hosting survice, they have some bugs but they do have an impressive PMing style that I'd like to see here
Re: Community Blogs
I vote no. I gave my members a forum for just this and it is liked by them.

Re: Community Blogs
I don't think this is needed. You can just create a Nav bar button and make it so that when you click on it, it takes you to the forums SOS blog.

Re: Community Blogs
then just simply get a blog in sosblog and synchronize it with your forum!!!
but anyway, the present function of the blog is not enough to have a good community blog...I think you should change it into better synchronization and improvement for the forum

but that will lower the speed when loading the forum and I don't think additional functions should get it in that way, that should just add a button on nav bars link to the blog and synchronize it with the forum in the database, but what I suggest is that the blog service should be improved and can be synchronize and match in display or other ways other than just have the users synchronized

Yes, it could lower the speed. but dont we need more forum speed anyway? so that would make the forum peopz hurry a bit more.
Re: Community Blogs
Actually it won't affect the loading at all . Also its hard to syncronize them the to the forum when you add links, if you know what I mean.
