Forum Widgets on top of forum

I'd like to be able to use forum widgets on the top of the forum, not just on the sides. This way i can set a guest welcome, please register, etc widget that only guests can view than it wont be there once their logged in and registered.

bottom would be nice too. i guess it would be easier to word it as, just like the portal options (ofcourse not in the center because the forum goes there)

Yes, why not? I can think of a lot of cool stuff I could do with it, and you can make headers and footers in your portal and you can put the chatbox at the top or the bottom.

This would also make it easier to have something like a News section on top of your forum. I remember some topics here with complex tuts and codes for doing things what would be done with a few click if you could use a widget.

I hope it's not hard to make that^^

this is needed for folks with version 3 sites unless they get template editing soon. I think everyne with v2 sites still have free TE.

for me, this would just kill another request i got. lol

my plan (once im able too, hopefully we can see this being allowed) is to set a widget at the top of the forum, which will work like a homepage message in my case, and basically say something like:

As a guest you will only get limited access to the site. To see the full site you will need to register by clicking here.

which would also be set where only guests can see it and nobody else, so once logged in it wont be visible to any member.

You can do what you want by editing the templates so i dont care for this,i have already put new staff on the header and footer.

ok, you must not get the topic, editing the foot and header is shown to everyone, one of the good things is you can use the widget to only appear for guests and basically be a welcome register, click here to join type of thing. editing the templates dont allow this, if u got the code to only display for guests, than post it up.
