Solved Merging two small topics together.

Post by Glad E Olah December 7th 2011, 6:22 pm

I tried to search for an answer to my question and really did not find an answer. Sorry if this question has been asked before but if so please direct me to the proper location to find the answer.

Thanks!

I am trying to merge two small threads into one. Each time I click it does not provide the place to merge. Do you have a tutorial or instructions on how to merge topics? I do understand how to split a topic to send certain posts elsewhere. I am wanting to learn how to merge two complete topics into one. (Both are less than ten posts at the moment)

Thanks, I went to the above thread link and followed these instructions to no avail.

"You can either click the merge button above your quick mod tools or select 'merge topics' from the quick mod tools drop down menu. The next page will tell you the title of the topic you have chosen to merge. Click the 'select' button. You can then choose the forum of the topic you want to merge with, using the upper right hand drop down menu and check the topic that you want to merge with. The next page will again show you the topic you want to merge and now the topic you want to merge with. Click send."

Perhaps there is something missing in the acp that I should check.

I don't think that should be a problem.

Is there a image added there?

No picture but I just edited my above post to put a screen shot of what I am seeing.

When I click select then it takes me to a choice of threads to merge but there is no place to select the correct thread to merge the two.

I realize I must be doing something wrong...what it is I would like to correct.

I checked the panel and yes all the icons are seen. I thought you meant was there a picture in the threads to be merged.

After pressing select you have to check the box by the thread you want to merge. Then press the send button.

Solved Re: Merging two small topics together.

A forum friend who has a forum of her own has advised me. I found out what was wrong. I had icons for new posts, old posts etc that were covering up the little white circle button to click for choice of thread to be merged to the another thread. I went to admin panel and hid the icons so the white circle button would show. I got the job done.

Just a piece of advice about buttons. If they are too large they may cover up needed buttons like what happened to me.
