Sorry but that username has been taken - even though it has not...

Help.

A member is trying to register on our new forum but when he tries to choose his username it says "sorry but that username has already been taken".

There are only 4 users signed up and none of them use the name in question.

Any ideas please?

The thing is what if there are other users getting similar messages and I don't know.

check your inactive user list, It may be they never activated the account, or if you have it set for admin to activate then a admin never did yet.

Admin panel>User and Groups>>Users>Inactive user
