Restricting Users from Chat

Hello -- We have a simple chat box on our forum and I am trying to find a way to restrict guests (which may be blocked) and "registered users" from being able to use the chat box. In essence I only want to allow members of certain groups to be able to use the chat, and as of yet I have been unable to find any method to moderate the users of chat.

If anyone has any suggestions that would be appreciated, and again this is the standard chat box. No upgrades, no mods, just the plane Jane box.

Are you using the Forumotion`s default chatbox?

If so, you cant do that...

I would recommend you use other advanced chatboxes (external services I mean), wich allow access restrictions.

Invisible_Fa is correct, now you may also like to use one out of the dozens of IRC networks to have your chatbox, they have an option to embed your channel, then you may post the Embed link wherever you would like the IRC channel to be available in. Since you only want the link for specific groups, then give the link to the members of those specific, sounds complicated.

Ok, thanks you two. I was hoping that I had just overlooked some simple process and didn't want to over complicate something which may have the most simple solution. I guess not... oh well!
