URL change (address update) affecting SEO

Post by JC1-UK on March 15th 2012, 11:53 pm

I have a problem with my forum not showing in search results. The forum is indexed but only 10 pages.

Shortly after creating the forum I changed the url and updated it by adding an "S" to the url as the search term for trance music forums was better for my other site and blog.

My url is http://trance-music-forums.forumotion.co.uk/ and I believe the old URL which is http://trance-music-forum.forumotion.co.uk/ is still linked to the new one causing Google to think I have a duplicate forum and penalising my forum.

Is there any chance someone could check if the two url's are linked?

I have searched the forum to check if there is a thread but couldn't find anything so apologies if this has been answered before.

Thank you in advance.

I suggest you to contact Google...
but are you really sure that you haven't already linked the one with S ? Because for a Pro service as Google it is really strange this problem... shaking
