New Message warning..

Logged onto my forum this morning and when i post after someone else, i get a message at the top of the page saying, something along the lines of.. someone has already posted, do you want to modify your post.. modify or save.

This has never happened before and want to know how to turn this feature off, it's most annyoing.

As far as I know you can't turn this feature off. Not yet anyway. But it can be useful when you start typing for a reply but someone else posts before you and you get that message and you can choose if you want to modify your message or continue to post it. This option will save you from two people posting the same thing.

The members on my forum won't like this feature,. we've had it on other forums in the past and although it may seem useful in theory, in practise it becomes annoying. So there is no way to turn the feature off at all? we're stuck with it? You said.. not yet anyway... is there any chance in the future?

Is it on phpbb3 version or just phpbb2?

i just want to add to my post above that if several people are posting and this new message warning feature is enabled, then it can sometimes take a while for your post to successfully go through. for instance somone posts, you try to reply, the new message warning comes up, someone else posts, you try to submit your original post and in the meantime someone else posts and so on and so on.

Although i understand this feature is enabled as a benefit for the forum it is in fact a hindrance.

We would appreciate it if we could have some means of disabling this feature.

i would really appreciate the option to turn this modification off .... we host a quiz night and the first post to appear with the correct answer wins the point .... but with this modification players will be at a disadvantage submitting their posts and could be stuck in a loop ad infinitum being told that another post has appeared before theirs ....

we can have hundreds and hundreds of posts within the space of an hour and a half .... this modification will seriously affect the enjoyment of our posters on our forum

please please reconsider adding an option to disable this

You can disable this option by going to your profile=>Preferences and look for the "Display the warning page of new posts:" option, choose No then save.
