Solved Sexually suggestive ads

Post by styler347 Fri 11 May - 6:47

I had a comment from one of my members and frankly, I am a little concerned myself. The other day when I visited my page, the ad said "Click Here for a Roman Orgy." As funny as this may be, I believe it violates the TOS and is not really appealing to people I might be referring to my site. Please, help. Thanks.

The only way to remove ads is by using credits.

The TOS says this:
"Forums that does welcome or promote warez, piracy, hacking, cracking, spamming, attacks against networks or servers, pornography, racial hatred, crimes against humanity, inappropriate activities on the servers, or any other actions which violate any applicable laws, aren't allowed. Any forum which contains texts, links, pictures, animations, videos or any other content recognized as Illegal will be deleted without notice or warning."
Am I going to be held responsible for those ads? The content of them is really not in my control...

here the thing Google ad-sense work like this

Quote....

if you frequently visit travel websites, Google may show more ads related to travel. Or, if you download a golf application, Google may show you ads related to golf. Google may also show you ads related to the content of sites in your recent browsing history. Google can also use the types of pages that you have visited, content that you have viewed,

i thought ill add this thing do go wrong at times i not say its because you been looking at sites with this type of content

I have seen this ad, myself. However, it is an ad about a computer game that has nothing to do with anything sexual at all.

They use the "sexual hints and innuendos" to gain members into their game. Thus, the question remains--should this be suitable for younger viewers?

I understand how Google adsense works, but I was not aware that these ads were based on that because usually, with Google Adsense, I see the ads in multiple sites that I visit on a regular basis. I haven't seen that ad anywhere else.

Alright, yeah...the game thing makes more sense as my forum is a game based site.

My answer to the last question is no, I don't think it is suitable for younger viewers or older viewers. My parents and some of my friends would take one look at that and flip about what I have been doing. It undermines what I am trying to do with the forum, really...

I will add also, that I do understand that things happen sometimes...I'm not trying to place blame or anything...I was just thinking that if I brought it to someones attention, maybe they could take that out of the rotation of ads, that's all...
