Question: Sexually Suggestive Empty Question: Sexually Suggestive

Post by Nahtan-Syab June 3rd 2012, 9:57 pm

Hello.

Our moderation crew pretty much removes any sexually suggestive content immediately, because of forumotion's rules regarding that. We are NOT willing to risk losing our forum do to it.

Now, when we do remove the content, we normally leave a little message where the picture once was, reminding them of the CoC rules. Now. If we take the link the picture is in, and post it in the moderation forum for review, is it against the rules?

The picture isn't displayed with the img coding, but a link. We normally view them to judge whether or not it's bad enough to be removed, or just to show other moderators what's acceptable, and what's not.

So, my question is: Can a link to sexually-suggestive material be posted for moderator review, as long as it's not being coded onto the forum?

Question: Sexually Suggestive Empty Re: Question: Sexually Suggestive

Hi,

The line here is VERY fine as there hasn't been anyone from the company come to explain what is and isn't allowed.
To be on the safe side, I'd say it isn't allowed, but it may be allowed permitting that it is within code tags
link
.
I'm going to ask for someone to further clarify, but no idea when He'll log in next.

Question: Sexually Suggestive Empty Re: Question: Sexually Suggestive

Never leave the content in the post for members to see.
If you want to keep things for your records then you should move the thread
To a staff or admin board only admin or mods have permissions to
However.if it is strong sexual content then you should just remove it and make a note of what it was in the post.

Even if you remove images it would still be a violation of having links lead to something explicit. So you never want to leave such content in any post that is open to members or the public.

Once again just to be safe i would still remove it even on staff board you may keep for your records. You can always edit it in what the content was along with rating it for staff to know if they ever had to look it up for any reason.

As far as content it self, Well i mean it's pretty clear what straight up pornography would be with explicit materials or nude content, But you have to be careful what you allow as far as things that may be non nude as well, Like lingerie models, People will complain about everything and anything so you really have to be careful what you allow when it comes to anything sexual related, I always tell everyone to keep things on a PG13 rating, if you feel it would be something that is not appropriate for a 13 year old, then you probably do not want to allow it on your forum.. Other then that you just have to use your best judgement thumright

We recently well today has a member who made his first post and it contained a picture of male genitalia, I issued a ban as it was outright inappropriate as it is a teen help site. Not a post your nude picture site.

I think to be on the safe side. While this is a good idea, if it is outright pornographic then just ban the person as it is rude and wrong.

However it is a fine line your on. However as long as it is not on the immediate forum bored where members can see then it should be fine. Also as long as you remove the code it should be okay.
