Help removing space between header and nav bar.

Hello, i just transferred from proboards to forumotion because I feel like I have a more wide variety of what I can do here.

I'm using phpBB2

I want to remove the space between the header image and the nav bar so i can connect them together.





I would also like to remove the
view posts since your last visit, links above the cats.
and the links below the cats. (active posters, top 20 posters, etc etc)
i have been searching all over the forum and haven't been able to find a solution
