how do i make the links flash different colors without hovering over it with my cursor?

That I'm aware of, you can't do that. Due to the fact that,

The four links states are:

a:link - a normal, unvisited link
a:visited - a link the user has visited
a:hover - a link when the user mouses over it
a:active - a link the moment it is clicked

Unless you color the Links one color and whenever hovering on them, changes to a different color? Sorry,

to much animations can be an eye swore, try to stick far away from that. Don't draw the attention to small things. If you want a flasing text it would need to be a GIF animation
