New Topic Merging with Old Topic

My issue is that a member's new topic is merging with a preexisting topic. I had split the topics an the topic that had merged with a preexisting topic merged with another topic right after. How do I fix this?

From what I read, you unsplit a two merged threads and now they merge with another?

Do you have another forum administrator?

Neither of those suggestions were the issue, but thanks for the effort none the less. I am still unsure why it happened, I am guessing it was a bug or glitch, I had to split the message multiple times before the issue had stopped occurring. If it reoccurs I'll post about it again.
