Where is the a/A button? Whatever modifications you did has made the a/A button disappear. You will need to click on that button to use WYSIWYG editor.

Click on preview & see if that button appears.
Its not appearing on your quick reply due to some codes you might have added. If its a default hitskin skin, it should work.

Try with firefox please. I don't know whats the issue with Chrome. It does not even show this button anywhere in the admin panel while writing newsletters for example.
