captcha
Captcha was just enabled on my board catching all of us by surprise. As we are a small board, I would like to be able to disable it for posting. How do I do this?
Re: captcha
Hi,
Wait, you're saying that whenever you're posting you have to first do the captcha? Forum URL?
Regards,
Sir Chivas.

Re: captcha
Can you provide a link to the topics in which this is happening in?
Is it only relating to a specific category or forum? or is it happening on every forum on every topic?
Forumotion has a built in Anti Spam feature which if it detects certain words used multiple times in posts it will trigger a Captcha. It protects against spam. I am not sure all the words that are entered. However I have come across an example. If the word "Viagra" is used 3 times in a post then it will trigger this Captcha, again it probably has many words built in to trigger this.

Re: captcha
I have never heard of a Captcha being triggered by a member making a post, I've only heard of a forum that allows guests to make a post will a Captcha be triggered.
Make sure you are logged in to the forum before you make a post.

@Runaway,
Probably he's speaking of guests, they go through the process of inserting a password & username, and final captcha.

Re: captcha
Ah, that could explain it; an old friend from the past joined and was joking about being a prince from nigeria here to collect gold.
Here is the link: http://funhsps.niceboard.org/t3525-i-am-robot Not sure you'll be able to see the thread as it is in a forum not open to nonmembers so I will copy and paste it.

Not entirely sure why there's a pulsing heart by this topic.

Do you accept donuts or cookies instead of these Nigerian Gold Watch Funds?

No...it was triggered by everyone in that thread and they were all logged in. In fact, I had to use captcha to post the copy of it here. So it appears certain words trigger it. Is there any way to disable that?

Do a test, type Viagra into forumotion support forum, you'll hopefully get a Captcha up because when I made my post above I was prompted to fill out a Captcha. Then obviously delete the post. However it is enabled and I think its enabled across every forumotion forum. I did a search for topics like this and I found said information in one of the previous topics created here about the exact same problem this guy is having. However, its obviously more words than Viagra..you'll have multiple words which will trigger this.
EDIT1: Yes it will likely be the case. I guess you'll have to wait until LeeLoo or one of the other members of Staff who'll be able to identify the possible wording that would appear to be the issue and then they'll be able to provide you with an answer. I am currently not sure if their is any way to disable this anti spam option.

Re: captcha
The only thing I know how that addresses such a thing is "Word Censoring" in AP>>General>>Censoring>>Word Censoring>>
If you have words in that list that could be causing a problem, but to trigger a Captcha I have never witnessed that happen on a forum where a member was making a post, however I have heard of it happening to a guest, and its not triggering it to the guests for word censoring, its triggering it to make sure they are not a robot. So I really don't know past that how to disable it, never heard of it happening or had to address that issue.

Actually it doesn't remember you're quoting my post, which has the word Viagra which is confirmed via this thread https://help.forumotion.com/t112654-captcha-prompts-interfere-with-topic-descriptions as being one of the words which triggers a Captcha

Zen's post also triggered it as did one of mine, neither which used V*agara.

Actually, it will be more words that just V*agara. I typed a post which had the one word Nigerian in it to make a test to see if it would trigger a Captcha and it didn't.

Re: captcha
....And my last post using an * in place of a letter still triggered it, lol.
Zen's post didn't use the V word but did use the phrase Nig. Prince.
So it appears certain phrases can trigger as well as certain words.

See the first quote I made, you quoted my post above which had the word Viagra in it. Which would trigger the Captcha. Its nothing to do with putting a * in something if you have the word in a quote. I highlighted in red for you to see where in my quote that you quoted a word that would trigger a Captcha
Again I don't know the full list of phrases or words that will trigger this. However if you wait for one of the Forumtion Support Admins then they'll be able to give you more detail. However I think we've established what has happened. However we'll wait for them to give a verdict on what the issue is exactly.

Re: captcha
Indeed. I just want to know how to disable that feature. For now, I will post what it is on our board. It's the first time it was triggered and it was by 3 posts in that thread.

Its likely a word or phrase that has been used within those three posts. Either one post and then the others have quoted the original post. Again I think its best to wait for someone who is more knowledgeable on the subject to come along and confirm and then maybe assist you in disabling the feature or at least letting you know the words to avoid.
