User Unable to Post
http://www.serenityriverpack.com/forum
Over that SRP, we have a new member under the username of Frostfire. She has been unable to post anything all regular members are, such as a new topic in the Awaiting Approval sub-forum of Wolf Biographies. However, she has been able to post a reply to our Introduction Rules topic, which we later split into it's own, new topic. She is unable to post anywhere else and is coming back with no errors or anything, the posts simply are not going through.
We recently banned a member and originally I thought this may have been that member just using a proxy, but after looking up the IP, the server is not one a proxy uses. SO, I can safely rule out this is a banned member. =/
Any suggestions?

Re: User Unable to Post
Is she posting links? So there is no error message at all?

Re: User Unable to Post
She is probably posting links, but we allow new users and guests to post them with no security measures. She is getting no error messages.
Re: User Unable to Post
There must be something happening, like a error or a blank message.

Re: User Unable to Post
No error. From what I've gathered, it sends her straight back to a blank post new topic page OR a "your message has been posted" page. Yet, no post.
Re: User Unable to Post
If it shows your message has been posted, then the message has been posted.
If you want to test it, change the password for that user's account & try it yourself.

Re: User Unable to Post
The user is unwilling to let me change their password. Could it be the browser they are using?
Re: User Unable to Post
I Cannot confirm & say what it is.
If the user is unwilling to help, then I really can't help much. Such a problem is not really reported. You can ask the user, that he can change the password later on for his account to whatever he wants. Its just a temporary thing, doesn't the user trust his admin?

Re: User Unable to Post
I'm a mod with access to the administration panel is all. Our admin doesn't have an account here and she told me to post it.
Re: User Unable to Post
Sorry, but if the user is not willing to help there is nothing we can do about it. Can we?

Re: User Unable to Post
They've helped a little bit. They are able to post it as a guest but not on their account.
Re: User Unable to Post
ok can i ask you to do the following things and see if there set up to post in the forum.
This is a shot in the dark really as the member will not help you out in anyway.
Bit strange if you ask me but still.
Go to your ACP >>
Users & Groups tab at the top of the page >>
Users >> Search users >>
Type the users name in the box and click OK
Now you will see the members account >>
Click the icon next to the cog this will bring up the account permissions look to see if they have the right to post in all forum if they don't them give the right permissions and then save
If they do have the right permissions then there is not much more we can do without having access to he's or her account.
I hope this is some help to you

Re: User Unable to Post
Looking at the permissions, everything save for a few boxes are unchecked for allowed access. However, that is the same for all other users, myself and the admin included. I'll check the boxes and see if that helps any, though.
Re: User Unable to Post
if there settings are all the same then im really lost on what the problem is maybe re move there ticks out of the box and then resynchronize your forum and then tick there boxes again and save this will reset all there settings
To resynchronize your forum do the following step
ACP >> General >> tab >> Forum >> Configuration..
Right at the bottom tick Resynchronize your forum : and Save
