active tab and tabs in profile

so i recently modified the navigation links so when you over over them the underline appears. now i tried to get the active tab/link to keep the underline but i can't figure out how.. what do i need to add to my CSS?

and also is there any way to have just the navigation tabs modified not also the tabs in profile? cuz now when i go to my profile to modify my signature or something the tabs in there are the same as the navigation tabs and it looks kinda weird to be honest.. i used the a.mainmenu to modify to navigation tabs
see it looks weird because they're modified like the nav links.

Now you must have used a.mainmenu:hover & the rest of the css.

Adding a.mainmenu:active with the rest of the css should have worked. However, it doesn't seem to work.

Add this to your css & check. If its working for the profile tabs. Also, check if something else is getting messed up or not.

that doesn't change anything, but the color of the tab active in profile.
and i don't think anything else is getting messed up, at least as far as i've checked

Okay, so if you change it for the navigation bar. That would also affect the tab in the profile. I don't really have a fix for the navigation bar. Sorry. Maybe, someone else has a fix for it.
