First topic message reminder :

Is there a way to opt of this new editor? If not is there a way to at least set the smiley's back to the old way. They are hard to see even with the mouse over feature. Any member we have with poor eye sight will not be able to use them. I ware glasses and it's hard for me to make head nor tails on the smileys.

Thanks in advance for a quick reply.

Edit:
A few solutions for the problems.

I believe the reason why it is not having too many issues here is because many members have modified their templates, added JavaScripts, added codes, etc.

At people having problems with the quote can you please try the fix I posted as I believe it is fixed for the WYSIWYG mode. It can be found here https://help.forumotion.com/t124671p480-only-topic-new-editor#832387

I haven't had any issues since I placed the code in it.

@Mr.EasyBB wrote:@Captain Hunk or whatever your name is. Reason is this is a Development issues as this is JavaScript it is a Design issue, Development is back end. Meaning PHP, mySQL, noSQL, and so forth. Anyways the codes I am providing are the fix for colors as stated by the ACTUAL creator of this code, I've been in contact with him talking back and forth. Getting results slowly, I can't wait around for FM Techs, rather I'll do the work quicker.

Now if I can have some test users as I have checked within the sceditor object to see the quote function. Here is a code-

Code:
$(function() {
var checkIf= $('.sceditor-container');
if(checkIf.length){
$.sceditor.commands.quote.exec(function (caller) {
 var editor = this;

$.sceditor.command.get('quote')._dropDown(
 editor,
 caller,
 function(author) {
 var before = '<blockquote>',
 end    = '</blockquote>';

if(author !== '')
 before = before + '<cite>' + author + '</cite>';

if(editor.getRangeHelper().selectedHtml() === "")
 end = end+'<br/>';

editor.wysiwygEditorInsertHtml(before, end + '<br />');
 }
 );
 } );
});

Please let me know if this fixes your issues. As the Techs can automatically place this in the Constructor.

@Willyr  sorry about that I got the line and the commas mixed up, sorry good thing you have the knowledge to try other things out!

Code:
$(function() {
var checkIf = $('.sceditor-container');
if(checkIf.length){
$.sceditor.defaultOptions.colors = "#000,#00ff00,#ff0000|#c3c3c3,#c0c0c0,#c4c8c6|orange,red,green";
}
});

That is the correct method of doing this, I'm not sure if this takes RGB and RGBA colors or not but someone can try, it does take both shorthand methods as well a hex6  colors.

Any other issues or whatever please ask me, I'm not afraid to delve into the coding. I can provide a way to get rid of certain buttons.

1st add any code inside the checkIf conditional like I have in both codes.

2nd learn the names of the buttons, if you check the class names they are like so sceditor-button-youtube so the name of this buttons is youtube, as we search for the command name.

3rd to remove add this script

Code:
$.sceditor.defaultOptions.toolbarExclude="youtube,left,center,right,time,date";

That will remove those buttons in the instance of sceditor.
just tested this and i can not get it to work Sad

If not then why is everyone else's forum test subjects instead of just testing the update here first.

they can't just test it on this forum but they could have got test members to test it first but that's not really the way to go as test members may not see the problems at first in my eyes all good things come out of testing it live.

We all get pissed at the tech's when they give us some thing that don't work right the first time but in the end it;s fixed or removed in time, I for one am happy to see some of the updates if there going to work in the end, Nothing is ever good in a lot of members eyes,

I'm not pointing fingers but i think you all moan about nothing when it comes to updates but think of the bigger pic here for once the tech's work hard on giving us the members what we want and even give us more then we want and still we are not happy, ok there is bugs before going live and even when it is life we find bugs but even Microsoft  and apple roll out things with bugs and take time to fix it so why would FM be any better ?? it's a free forum site and i think they do bloody well on what they do.

okay rant over

So incredibly frustrated.  I have 500 members telling me the quote doesn't work.  And if they switch editor mode, the text is white on white background.  If I change the text color in the admin panel, nobody can read the posts since those have a black background.  Please give me a simple solution.  And if you throw a bunch of code at me, please explain where/how to use it.  What a headache.  The old editor was perfect IMO.  www.gravitypirates.dust.tv.

After reviewing this for sometime now, I see that we can't simply fix this with a quick javascript, it is the Techs job to fix this. I've tried multiple codes. The reason is, if you know how to inspect an element. inspect that quote, and you'll see inside the <blockquote> is a <br> that should be outside the quote so that you have an extra line to actually click Wink

I've tried deeper codes such as
Code:
$(function() {
var checkIf= $('.sceditor-container');
if(checkIf.length){
$.sceditor.command.remove('quote');

$.sceditor.command.set("quote",{
         forceNewLineAfter: ['blockquote'],
         _dropDown: function (editor, caller, handleIdFunc) {
            var   content = _tmpl("quote", {
                  author: editor._("Author (optional)"),
                  insert: editor._("Insert")
               }, true);

            content.find('.button').click(function (e) {
               var val = content.find("#author").val();
               handleIdFunc(val);

               editor.closeDropDown(true);
               e.preventDefault();
            });

            editor.createDropDown(caller, "insertquote", content);
         },
         exec: function (caller) {
            var editor = this;

            $.sceditor.command.get('quote')._dropDown(
               editor,
               caller,
               function(author) {
                  var   before = '<blockquote>',
                     end    = '</blockquote><br />';

                  if(author !== '')
                     before = before + '<cite>' + author + '</cite>';

                  if(editor.getRangeHelper().selectedHtml() === "")
                     end = '<br />' + end;

                  editor.wysiwygEditorInsertHtml(before, end + '<br />');
               }
            );
         },
         tooltip: "Insert a Quote"
      });
}
});

And as you can see this doesn't help either. So if Sanket or any of the team members here can relay the message that the Quote in Regular replies (when clicking quote) will not escape the quote because there is a missing line break to get out of it. I hope this message gets through to them silent

Sorry guys thought I had a fix for this Sad

function findlink(i) {var a=$('.topic-title').get(); var b=$(a[i]).find('a')[0]; var c=b.attributes;
postlink=c[1].nodeValue; return postlink; }
$(function(){
j=$('div .pagination').find('strong');
k=j[0].innerHTML; var pagenumber=Number(k);
var p=pagesort(pagenumber); var a=$('.right').get();

if theres a way to opt out of this new editor? I am sure most of us would ??

it would have also been nice to have a pre warning that this was going to happen and at least we could have
known what was going on when we take all the flack from members

we are getting a few issues at the monment

one being you can only reply inside the "quote box" which makes a post uneasy to understand!
another problem is that the reply box is closed and in some case's can't be enlarged

I have been with you guys for a long time now and i am still amazed at the lack communication with site owners

I posted a link above which explains just how to do so.

Create a new JavaScript under Admin Panel -> Modules -> HTML & JavaScript -> JavaScript pages management -> Create new, title it however you want, select 'In all the pages' and add this.

Code:
my_setcookie('WYSIWYG_STATE',0,true);

this still doesn't turn off WYSIWYG by default.
