In progress (Only Topic!) New Editor

Post by TWYLYGHT on June 12th 2013, 3:34 pm

First topic message reminder :

Is there a way to opt of this new editor? If not is there a way to at least set the smiley's back to the old way. They are hard to see even with the mouse over feature. Any member we have with poor eye sight will not be able to use them. I ware glasses and it's hard for me to make head nor tails on the smileys.

Thanks in advance for a quick reply.

Members are happy! Thank you for the fixes.
I hate to say it, but some of our members ended up really liking the smiley button located on the editor bar. Is there a way (script) to place it back there?

Quotes are now working fine on my forum (http://www.606v2.com), however some IE users are still reporting browser crashes when trying to send personal messages.

I have 1 user still complaining that his browser crashes when trying to post in the Wysiwyg editor, if I can get more info out of him will update this post.

The smilies box background is not white, it is showing the background image of my forum. Does anyone know how to fix that and make it white?

Thanks.

Yes I know how to fix it but I don't think anyone should right now, because they will probably fix that server side in time. I'm not going to add codes only to have to take them out again. So I think we should wait awhile and see if they fix it, if not then I will gladly lend my support to show how to fix it.

Nevermind, i found it myself. There is still a bit of the background showing, but it's better than nothing.
If anyone wants to change the background of the smilies box, add this and change to the color you want:

Code:
#smilies-categ, .smiley-element {background: #DDDDDD;}

HellO!
i just checked and backread and saw that the smiley box should be showing up to the right of the reply box in quote mode?
it doesnt for me Sad
everything in my CSS is right...

EDIT: And when clicking on the smiley's box on quick reply, it has my site background in there... how do i make that white???

EDIT: Got the smilie box to show up! :wouhou:

The background for the smilies with that code that was just posted still shows a bit of the site background, but not that much. it'd be great if we could get it to full white haha

Another glitch reported by some of our members:

On iPad (possibly iPhone too) whenever they open any topic where there's a quick reply, the site starts getting smaller as the quick reply box automatically begins expanding, without them doing anything at all. It just stretches and stretches, so it is difficult for them to read the messages, since the loaded page won't stay still.

Also for users of touch phones and tablets the colors options are rather small and that often leads to misclicks. Any chance on making the boxes bigger?

That is how it should be in the quick reply.  In the full editor, the smileys should be to the right of the message box.

We still have problems with the smileys. This afternoon all worked fine, but this evening the smileys often won't work; mostly we see the smileys (although sometimes no smileys at all) but they don't show up in the text area if we click on them.
One minute later everthing is fine again and with a next posting they won't work.
So on and of they work and don't work.

Caroline

Edit: I read all the time 'smileys' on the right, but we have smileys on the left. I'm thinking now maybe that is the problem?

Some themes have the smiley box on the left or right.  It depends on the theme you are using.

Okay... but we have since this evening problems with the smileys.
All the time we used the 'code' for the smileys and it worked fine. This afternoon the texeditor changed, we could remove the CSS code and now sometimes they show up and sometimes they don't show up and if they show up, they sometimes works and a minute later they won't work.

(Only Topic!) New Editor - Page 25 PS-smileysno

Update 22/6 : it seems to be a Jave related problem. When installing the latest Java update the smiley problem is resolved Very Happy

Another update: still not working fine Crying or Very sad  I thought this morning it was resolved with Java update, but now again the same problem.
So smileys still don't work as should be: sometimes no smiley (printscreens) and sometimes we see smileys, but they won't work and the next post they work again.

* so please help me with this problem *

Thank you.

My smiley's are back to where they were before on the LEFT, I don't care which side they are on as they are now back where they were before the update and working correctly for both me and my members up to typing this.  I am just puzzled as to why all this happened in the first place without warning but all is well that ends well, just lets hope lessons have been learnt and we don't get this type of thing just dropped on us again.  It was an inconvenience to say the least and some forums have lost members.

I wont start about the quotes yet will leave that another couple of days, hope they sort it out.....
